Over the years, the Illinois Saint Andrew Society has been dedicated to keeping members and friends informed about our initiatives, events, and long-term plans for the organization. We are grateful for your ongoing commitment and support and want to offer even more opportunities for Society members to gather, exchange ideas and, of course, nourish Scottish identity.
At one time, the Society held quarterly get-togethers in various locations around this vast Chicagoland area. We are pleased to share that we are reinstating this form of engagement and are busy organizing a series of meetings to be held across the city of Chicago and throughout the surrounding suburbs. The first such gathering will be held in Naperville and we hope you will join us for an afternoon of Society news, fun, food and refreshments.
Society Board Chairman Allan Garraway, Campaign Chair Jim Bell and other members of our Board of Governors will bring you up to date on a number of our efforts including progress against our Strategic Plan, the new and signature events planned for 2016, our own Scottish Home and the newest addition to our North Riverside Campus, the Caledonian House. This state of the art memory care residence has been under construction since last spring and will welcome residents this summer. This completion of the Caledonian House is one of the more important milestones in our Society's 170 year history and we are excited about its potential and its ability to move us on to the next chapter in the Society's life.
